Add medications to Smart Meds
-
Navigate to Touch Configs -> Smart Buttons
-
Select the desired category in the Smart buttons box
-
Below the medications box, type in the name of the medication. Type slowly so that autocomplete can show you options. Once you see the medication that you want to add, click it in the autocomplete box. You cannot add a medication without clicking the choice that appears in the autocomplete box.
-
Once it is selected, click the
to the right.
-
In the medications box above, select the new medication that you added. The medication may appear as its brand name, or generic name.
- In the box labeled Details that appears, it is not necessary to type a name and do not change the Medication name.
- The options box is where you will put the dosage options the provider will see inside of the Anesthesia Touch app. Enter the options in the box, with each option separated by a comma (,) followed by a space. Your options should always start with a 0, so that the provider has a choice to remove the medication if it was entered in error.
- Default options should remain as 0 or 0.00. If the value is not zero, the provider will not be unable to remove any medications entered in error.
- To change where your medication appears inside of the category, change the sort order value. To determine what value you should use, tap on the medication that you want the new medication to be close to. If you want it above the existing medication, then choose a sort value less than the existing medication, and greater than the medication currently above it.
Example: In the screenshot above, the sort order value of propofol is 50 and the value of rocuronium is 60. If I want my new medication, Ultiva, to appear between those two medications, then I would change the sort order value of Ultiva to 55.
If the medication should appear at the top of the list, the sort order value should be 0 and whatever is currently at the top will need to be adjusted to a higher value than the new medication.
