If an appointment does not appear in the Patient List, it may be necessary to start a record for the patient. This could be because the patient’s procedure was unscheduled, is emergent, or is simply new to Anesthesia Touch (in cases where the system doesn’t receive the schedule via interface.)
To begin the record for a new patient, do the following:
In the Patient List, select “New Patient”
From the “Documents” button, select a Document or select the “IntraOp” button to begin an IntraOp Record (see how to start a document)
Complete the Patient Dialog:
- If the patient has an Account number, enter it first to import their demographics
- If no patient information is known, select “Emergency Patient” to use placeholder information
Proceed to the selected document and begin charting.
